Why Taking The First Step Could Unlock Your Dreams

It goes without saying that beginning a monumental task oftentimes comes with some intimidation. This pertains to business but it also pertains to life. If you have to clean the entire garage that looks like a scene out of a five-year-old’s birthday party, chances are you’re not too excited about it. If you want to start a business that will involve at least a decade of blood, sweat, and tears, you may be excited about your new venture, but again, there is an intimidation factor. A force is so strong that by oftentimes by itself prevents you from getting started on your journey. The key to standing up to the bully?  Take the first step.

Why Taking The First Step Could Unlock Your Dreams

It’s like anything, once you get going, things start to flow. Once you start to put your plans into action, it feels more natural and less forced. One of the biggest things people struggle with is STARTING something (Note: You cannot finish something that you never start)! Again, I understand that it can be a bit intimidating to begin something that might be considered a monumental task, but those types of things offer the greatest rewards. Many times, rewards can transform your life and unlock your dreams. Do you really want to miss out on something that powerful and life-changing because you didn’t feel like getting started? I hope not.

Martin Luther King said, “Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase.” You can’t expect to know exactly how your life and future are going to unfold, but it doesn’t mean you can’t proceed to make progress toward what you want to achieve in your life. You see, everyone who has done something extraordinary with their lives had no idea how their journey would turn out when they first began. Do you think Steve Jobs knew Apple would become what it is today? Do you feel that Mark Zuckerberg knew Facebook would change the world when he took the first steps to get it started? Sure, they had confidence and believed they had good ideas for a business, but nobody can envision something of that size. They didn’t see the future, but they started the journey anyway. They stopped making excuses and went for it. They had faith in themselves and overcame fears on their way to unlocking their dreams.

Taking The First Step

Taking the first step is the hardest step. Get that first step underneath you, then it becomes a little easier to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I’m not saying achieving your dreams is going to be easy, I’m just saying once you take that first step you went from hoping and thinking to doing and manifesting. See the difference? You crossed over that barrier. That strong barrier of fear and the unknown. “Is this going to work?” ” Can I really make this happen?” You might ask yourself a thousand questions, but the funny thing is they all have the same answer. You won’t know until you try.

The most successful people in the world took that first step at some point. Everyone’s story is different and it’s not too late. Maybe it’s time for you to take that step you’ve always said you were gonna take…
